A dosa, the popular thin pancake of South India is a delicacy of the world. However, the finesse of making this is one that makes it truly delicious. The 12" dosa tawa from P-TAL should be soaked in oil overnight. This helps in avoidances of the dosa sticking on to the tawa making it glide and come out easily. A move towards giving you the taste of India, this tawa makes the kitchen complete.

Brass Dosa Tawa can be used to cook a variety of dishes including dosas, pancakes, Chillas, since its tin coated on the inside, it is naturally non-stick and enhances the taste too.

The brass dosa tawa from P-TAL makes this cooking & eating a memorable experience. The healthy metal keeps the nutrition intact. The size of the tawa makes the cooking of dosas quite unique experience. Also, the heating is more as compared to normal non-stick tawas. A must requisite for any pancake lover.

Note: We are facing delays due to high demand and it may take 2 weeks for us to dispatch this order.

  • 1. Why tin coated ? We came up with the product for making dosas, got it tested by a food expert and it is completely safe to make dosas or pancakes on it without being worried about sticking.
  • 2. Things to remember before making that first dosa, Firstly make a basic chapati or paratha on it, then leave it overnight with some oil on it (prefer sesame oil) and in morning you shall have a seamless experience.
  • 1. We did see Thatheras using brass tawas in their houses. But, we didn't quite know the market potential of the product at that time. After launching it, we realised that people do love it.
  • 2. Brass & copper being good conductor of heat, when used as cookware helps you save gas. They are a smart step towards sustainability.

Tarnishing of metal is a sign of purity and in no way affects the quality or benefits it imparts.

Can we use it on induction cooktop?

No, these metals cannot be used on induction cooktops since these are non-magnetic

Can we use copper for drinking warm water?

It is ideally recommended to use copper for normal room temperature water.

How long does the tin coating (kalai) last on cookware utensils?

    hacks to shine

    Maintain the shine

P-TAL utensils can be cleaned just like your other utensils. For bringing back the shine, follow the steps mentioned below:

    01

Wash the utensil with only water to begin with.

    02

Apply some Pitambari powder and scrub on all parts of the wet vessel.

    03

If you don’t have Pitambari, use a mixture of 1 bowl of wheat flour (atta), 1 spoon of salt and 2-3 spoons of vinegar.

    04

Rinse off the Pitambari or your home-made paste with water and wipe off any excess moisture.

your vessel will now shine like it’s brand new!
And voila!, your vessel will now shine like it’s brand new!
