  • 1. Does brass chapatis box helps in keeping chapatis hot for a longer period of time ? Brass does help in retaining the softness of roti and keeps them fresh and soft while storing the cooked rotis in the dabba. Scientifically speaking, being a good conductor of heat, it has been used as a material for hot cases in earlier times. Feel free to store chappatis, vegetables or any cooked meal in these handcrafted boxes.
  • 2. Does it tarnish? Purity has its way of being visible. Pure silver turns black over time & pure brass also tarnishes. However, kalai can be done to increase its life.
  • Keeping sour/ acidic food in brass utensils should be avoided as brass reacts with salt in high temperature. The existence of zinc in brass helps in purifying blood.

    Cleaning Hacks

    It can be difficult to see the ageing of metal but that is the sign of purity!
    This product can be washed normally like other utensils. A day in an entire week can be kept for special cleaning incase needed. Pitambari powder, which is easily available in the market, can be applied to the products and rinsed off with water to give them a shiny look. Feel free to use household sour elements like a mixture of tamarind+salt or a mixture of wheat+vinegar/lime+salt, if pitambari is not available.
