WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

This set brings together two pieces that cover a large part of everyday Indian cooking. The flat-base kadhai gives you the depth and stability needed for sabzis, curries, dals and one-pot dishes. Its food-safe tin lining keeps ingredients from coming into direct contact with brass, while the glass lid lets you watch the cooking without repeatedly lifting it. The roti tawa completes the set with a broad, evenly heated surface for rotis, chapatis, parathas and other flatbreads. Together, they form a practical foundation for daily cooking rather than a bundle built around a single recipe.

CARE AND USE
  • Use a low to medium flame.
  • Never place the empty kadhai on a lit burner.
  • Grease the roti tawa before heating.
  • Do not cook acidic foods such as tomatoes, vinegar or citrus directly on the unlined tawa.
  • Use wooden or silicone utensils inside the kadhai to protect the tin lining.
  • Brass will naturally develop a patina. Polish it when you prefer a brighter finish.

CARE AND USE

For everyday care:

  • Wash with mild soap and a soft sponge.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool.

To maintain the shine:

  • Use our P•TAL x Happi Planet de-oxidising cleaning solution or a natural homemade scrub (atta + salt + lemon).
  • Dry thoroughly after each wash to prevent watermarks.

EXPERIENCE THE MOUTHFEEL

“Two pieces that earn their place every day: one for the meal, one for the roti beside it.”
P•TAL EXPLAINS
Brass distributes heat evenly, helping food cook consistently across the surface of the vessel. The two pieces serve different purposes while working naturally together in the same kitchen.

A CLOSER LOOK

Everyday Coverage

The kadhai and tawa together cover curries, vegetables, one-pot dishes and a wide range of flatbreads.

Two Purpose-Built Surfaces

The tin-lined kadhai supports versatile cooking, while the unlined tawa is designed specifically for flatbreads and similar preparations.

Long-Term Cookware

Both pieces are made from pure metal. The kadhai’s tin lining can be renewed through kalai when required, allowing the cookware to be maintained instead of discarded.

FAQs

Use the kadhai for sabzis, curries, dals, sautéing and one-pot meals. Use the tawa for rotis, chapatis, parathas, pancakes, crepes and tortillas.

Yes. Its food-safe tin lining prevents direct contact between acidic ingredients and brass.

No. The roti tawa is made from unlined pure brass and is intended for flatbreads and similar low-moisture preparations.

Not directly. An induction converter plate is required for induction use.

The routine is simple: use moderate heat, wash gently and dry thoroughly. The kadhai may require re-tinning over time as its kalai naturally wears with use.

Yes. Brass naturally develops patina with heat, air, moisture and handling. This is normal and can be polished if preferred.
