WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
  • The P•TAL 4L Brass Degchi is made for the kind of cooking that asks for time. Biryanis that need to settle into their flavours. Curries that simmer slowly. Daal, stews, and one-pot dishes that become better when the heat stays steady rather than hurried.

  • Handcrafted in brass with a traditional food-safe kalai lining, its deep Degchi form gives you generous room to cook and stir, while brass distributes heat evenly across the vessel. A fitted lid helps hold in heat and aroma, and sturdy side-ring handles make the vessel easier to move from stove to table.

  • At 4 litres, it is substantial enough for family meals and special cooking without feeling oversized for the everyday kitchen.

FAQs

It is suited to biryani, curries, daal, stews, and other dishes that benefit from a deep vessel and slower cooking.

The Degchi has a 4-litre capacity.

The body is brass, while the cooking surface is lined with food-safe tin, traditionally known as kalai.

That is the traditional tin or kalai lining applied over the brass interior.

The kalai lining acts as a barrier between food and brass. It should remain intact for regular cooking.

Yes. It comes with a fitted lid with a raised knob.

They provide convenient gripping points when moving or serving from the vessel. Use suitable heat protection when the Degchi is hot.

Not directly. Use a suitable induction plate between the cooktop and the Brass Degchi for induction cooking.

Avoid prolonged empty heating. Add a little ghee or oil and allow it to heat gradually over low to medium heat.
